Upcycled Cotton Watchcap | Celestial Blue
100% UPCYCLED ECO-COTTON
What is Eco-cotton? Eco-cotton is a blend of reclaimed cotton fibres from discarded garment scraps combined with a small amount of polyester made from the incredible RPET process of recycling plastic (PET) bottles into fibre. Through a proprietary scrap fabric colour matching system there are no dyes or chemicals used in the process of creating such vibrant colours from what would otherwise be textile waste.Styling:
This cap can be worn single or double cuffed depending on your fit preference.
We opt to hand wash our watchcaps and lay them flat to dry but they are able to be washed in the machine on a gentle cold cycle with other soft items + similar colours. Cotton stretches out a lot so after washing the hat it may feel tight, like when you first purchased it, but will stretch out quickly.Source:
This hat is made from RCotton, a yarn milled in Spain by Ferre, a centuries old mill. Why Spain? Spain is home to the largest textile manufacturing factories in the world (Zara anyone?) and is a country that is decades ahead of any other country in recycling post-industrial and post-consumer textile waste produced by these factories. The yarn is purchased from their American partner mill, Hickory Throwing in North Carolina.Production:
Knit in Waterloo, NY by friends and knitting partners at Mozaic Organization; a not-for-profit employing, assisting, and providing services to thousands of disabled person in the Fingerlakes, NY area. The raw knit material is then shipped in rolls to Upstate Stock's sewing facility in Greenpoint, Brookyln where it is cut, sewn, and finished by our lovely team.Size & Fit:
One Size. Length: 11-11.5" Inches (without fold)
Knit cotton is prone to stretch so if your hat feels a bit tight when you receive it, wearing it will quickly adjust it to your head. If you feel your hat starts to loosen too much over time, you can give it a hand-wash in warm water or machine wash in cold, lay it flat to dry, and it should spring right back.
